Como parece observar Aby Warburg, en la zona de los arrebatos en grupo orgiásticos es donde debemos buscar el sello que graba en la memoria los movimientos de los arrobos extremos de la emoción, en la medida en que se puedan traducir al lenguaje gestual, con tal intensidad que los engramas de la experiencia de la pasión doliente persistan como una herencia almacenada en la memoria. Existía, al menos, tanta memoria almacenada en los gestos del grupo de incendiarios como en los relieves del edificio que habrían de destruir.
